A New Year! A New Blog!!

Hello again from Eagle Star Academy! It has been a great summer and we are officially back in the swing of things. Monday, Aug. 17,2009, was our first day of lessons for the new school year. I decided to start a new blog to keep everyone updated since the old one is almost full. I hope ya'll will come by often and let us know you stopped by. I am going to try really hard to keep this updated frequently.

The summer has been a busy one for us. There has been lots of fun, friends, swimming, church activities, hanging out, good food and great memories. Aaron and I went to Student Life Summer Camp in Daytona Beach for a week. That was an amazing week and really made an impact on many lives...including my own. We were home for a week, then left again, this time with Kristen, for a week long mission trip to TN. That was another awesome week that we will not soon forget. While we were away, Momo and Ian spent some fun days with Papa at home. They went out to eat a few times, went fishing, made special trips to the store for neat things like a slip -n- slide, and also went to the beach. Randy and I also escaped for a few days of r&r together. We have one more little vacation planned next weekend to Edisto Beach, SC. I could write more, but that is just a quick summary of our summer.

We started the day off Monday, measuring all the kids height. They just continue to grow and grow and grow!! Aaron is in 10th grade this year and he is starting out at a TALL 6 feet 2 inches! Kristen is in the 7th grade and she is also getting to be almost as tall as me at 5 feet 4 inches. Morgan is in the 3rd grade and measured in at 4 feet and 3.5 inches. Ian is also a "student" this year, starting some Pre K work. He is 3 feet 5.5 inches tall! So, there you have it! The class here, just keep getting taller and it seems nothing is going to slow them down! I snapped a few pictures of the kids working Monday. I also had Jacey here for our first day of school too so of course I had to get some pictures of her too! She is just growing sweeter and sweeter every day!
Here is Ian building a track while everyone was finishing up their lessons for the day. Sorry, I didn't get these pics uploaded in order.....they are backwards from the end of the day to the morning! OOPS!

I think Kristen was working on her science. She is doing Life Science this year.
Morgan was working on Reading and Aaron was working on Geometry!

While we were all sitting here at the table working, we happened to look over and Maggie had decided she needed to join us! She was actually sitting in the chair watching Randy practicing golf out in the back yard. She just looked so funny sitting in the chair. Don't worry, she is not really allowed to be up in that chair, but we had to get a picture this one time

My Jaceybell is just getting to be such a big girl now! She is starting to sit up alone!

Aaron was reading the first pages in his history book.

Kristen reading her literature book.
Momo was working hard on her first math lesson of the year!

Kristen is excited to be doing Home Ec as an elective!

Jacey trying to figure out what we were all doing!

Aaron is doing Chemistry for his science.

Momo, proud to be in 3rd grade!

Ian was very happy to have his own school work to do too and pulled his books out as soon as heard it was school time!

Just before I woke the kids up, I had this little visitor on the bird feeder! A pretty cardinal, stopping in for some breakfast.

That was our first day! It was a good day overall, it did take us a little longer to get finished but I was happy nonetheless!

Looks like a wonderful day to me! Wow, your kids have grown. Kristen is taller than me now. Of course that is not hard to beat since I am only 5 feet. *giggles* Jacey has gotten so big since I last saw pictures of her. She is just adorable, Chandra! I hope that you all have a wonderful homeschool year and can't wait to read more blogs.
